A model of diversity

When Berlin’s new main station opened in 2006, it received a lukewarm reception from the press. The Neue Zürcher Zeitung wrote, “Railway passengers will in future arrive at one of the most disconcerting places in Berlin. The new station is located in the heart of the city and yet a no man’s land.” The online publication Baunetz called the surrounding area a “dusty wasteland,” and the daily paper Süddeutsche Zeitung noted that, “there is nothing at all out there.” Continue reading
